Tips and Hints About Quote Comparisons

There are a lot of printers out there who can quote print jobs for extremely cheap prices.  However in many cases there is fine print that consumers may not be aware of.  Make sure you understand what you are paying for. 
 
When comparing quotes, ask for the quality of the paper – this is usually in gsm. So depending on your needs different gsm will apply.  Compare gsm amongst the different quotes you will be given from printers. 
 
Make sure you find out if the printers are Offset Printers or Digital Printers.  In most simple terms, with the same piece of artwork, offset printers can print it in to magazine quality but digital cant. There is a difference in the quality produced from these two printing types. Make sure you are aware of it when comparing prices.
 
In many instances companies will advertise about colour printing, but are not really so.  Ask if it is 2 colour, 4 colour or full colour.  The less number of colours, the cheaper it will be to produce the prints.  Finally make sure there are no hidden costs.  These may include the set-up fee, delivery fee or other artwork fees. Some printers even charge $20 just to load a CD.
